If you blinked then you probably just missed out on England’s few days of summer sun that sprang up over the bank holiday weekend. We actually managed to get a few barbecue’s in, without having to sit under umbrellas or run inside for shelter…madness! So seeing as though I’ve been feeling all the summery vibes, I’m gracing your screens with the peachy, pink makeup I’ve been loving recently that will get you all set for the next heatwave. Fingers crossed it’ll be sooner than we think.

To start off this look I used my trusty Revlon Colorstay Foundation in shade Buff. I still can’t get enough of this foundation – it matches my skin tone so well and feels so light when applied. I used my egg sponge to apply this by dabbing it across my face and then further blending it in using a Tarte foundation brush. I then took my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 1 fair and concealed any blemishes I had and used it to brighten underneath my eyes too. To contour I’m using the Bareminerals Ready Color Boost, The Select Reserve and swiping it just underneath my cheekbones and also blending a little into the edges of my forehead. I then took the blush pink coloured highlighter from the NYX butt “naked” turn the other cheek palette and blended it on the tops of my cheekbones coming down to the apples of my cheeks- using the lightest highlighter (really sorry they don’t have names), to really bring out my cheek bones and complete that summery dewy look. And finally I popped a tiny bit of the Smashbox blush on the apples of my cheeks for added pink, peach vibes.

I’ve kept the eyes quite simple for this look, to achieve an everyday summery feel. I used the Bareminerals The Possibilities quad eyeshadow palette, in shade promise all over the lid, followed by future blended into the crease, just to add a little bit of shimmer and depth. I then took the shade lace from the Tarte Maneater palette using it in the corner of my eyes and just under my brow bone to widen my eyes. To create this cateye look I used the Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner pen to wing my eyeliner, adding a little bit of a vintage look to this summer makeup. I’ve recently started loving a cat eye again after stepping away from them after highschool.. oh teenage Leah you did not have the best eyeliner skills. I completed my eye look using a combination of the Tarte Maneater mascara & the Revlon Ultra Volume mascara. Tarte’s Maneater mascara is perfect for separating my lashes, whilst the Revlon mascara is brilliant for thickening and you guessed it, adding volume to my lashes. I’m always on the hunt to try out new mascara’s so if you’ve found one that you find yourself reaching for all the time, let me know below.
I’ve been using the Barry M Shape and Define brow kit in shade light to medium recently and I’ve honestly been loving it. It’s so much better than any drugstore brow product I’ve tried before. The steps of adding wax to shape your brows first and then using the brow product I think really helps to create a natural look that stays in place and keeps them slaying all day. The best thing about this new brow kit ,that’s not leaving my makeup bag, is that I got it for free as I spent £8 at Boots on Barry M products, this offer is still available now, so be sure to snap it up if you’re looking for a new brow product to try out.

If you’re really after that Summer look, there’s nothing quite like going for a glossy lip. I’ve been reaching for an old favourite of mine, a Revlon Lip Butter in shade Juicy Papaya- a cute, orange, peach colour. I am forever reaching for lip products like this in the Summer months; they add a fun pop of colour to your makeup look whilst keeping your lips hydrated and soft. I love how with this product you can really build up the colour to be quite a bold peach or leave it at a subtle shimmer. It makes topping up your lip colour super easy as you can just swipe it and go, no mirror needed.
