Night time Adventures

The other day I went to visit my sister in Birmingham and it was really late when we began to drive home. So I thought I would take advantage of it being dark and try my hand at some night and light/motion photography. I have increased the contrast on some of these images as this defines the street and car lights more and I really like it.  Here’s to experimenting with different photography more.

I hope you enjoyed this type of post,

Sunday Recipe | Banana Nut Bread.

Today I’m giving you a flawless recipe so that you can encompass your inner kitchen goddess and get baking. I recently made this cake for my Mum’s birthday a few weeks ago and I’ve been dying to make it again.

The following recipe does contain Walnuts so obviously don’t attempt this recipe if you are allergic to nuts.

Ingredients

225g Plain Flour                    Plus extra for dusting

1tsp Salt

1tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda

115g UnsaltedButter             Plus  extra for greasing

200g Caster Sugar

2 Eggs

3 Bananas                              Mashed

115g Walnuts                         Chopped

2 tbsp Milk

Preheat Your Oven to 160 degrees C/ 325 degrees F/ Gas Mark 3.

Lightly Grease and flour a 900-g/2-lb loaf tin.

Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda into  a bowl and set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugar in a seperate bowl until pale and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, beating well after each addition. Stir in the bananas, walnuts and milk until thoroughly mixed. Then add the flour mixture and stir until everything is combined.

Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour 10 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Leave to cool in the tin for 20 minutes before turning out.

And this is the final result. This delicious and easy to make desert has certainly become a family favourite and I dare say it’ll all be gone by the end of tonight,

Hope you have a fabulous weekend,

Time to Travel

Seeing a lot of people going on Holiday and travelling to exotic places this Summer has got me thinking about where I want to travel in the future. So here are the places I would love to go and visit some day.

  • America – I want to travel all over America from Los Angeles, San Francisco,New York and Nashville. I just think it would be great to travel to big cities and spend the day getting lost amongst the bright lights and small ‘hipster’ coffee shops.
  • Italy – I would love to visit Pompeii, Mount Vesuvias and Venice: birthplace of the waltz. I think the devastation of Pompeii is both devastating and mesmerizing.
  • France (Paris) – I visited Paris with my family a while ago when I was about 8, but I can’t really remember it so I would really love to go back and explore it all over again.
  • Dubai – I think Dubai is so extraordinary – it looks like a city from the future with it’s contemporary skylines and luxury lifestyle. Visiting here would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience.
  • Australia – First off, who just read that in an Australian accent because I sure did type it in one. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is just one of the many reasons to visit this fascinating place. Plus, it has a wonderful history!
  • Egypt – And finally, Egypt. It is a place of mystery and magic. The Egyptians beliefs about afterlife are completely mind blowing and their pharaoh’s are something out of fantasy stories. This place is definitely home to some of the greatest human architecture that has ever existed.

Please let me know down below where you would like to travel or where you have visited this Summer. i would love to here about your adventures.

GLAMOUR, Ingredients & Nails.

I’m currently sat here on my sofa all comfy and watching a few episodes of Miranda. I’ve yet to make a list of the ingredients I will need to make my Mum’s birthday cake for tomorrow and I need to paint my nails (I’m using Barry M’s Jelly shine in shade passion fruit… I think)  in order for me to get out of the horrible habit of being a nibbler. But to be honest I didn’t have that much sleep last night and the summer sun that seems to have appeared is draining me of the little energy I had built up.

I am super busy this upcoming week and so I am super excited. It’s my Mum’s birthday – this is what has inspired my surge for baking tomorrow, we’re going out for a Birthday meal on Thursday. Plus, on Friday we are travelling to Newcastle Upon Tyne to do some well earned shopping as my Brother and my Dad are walking Hadrian’s Wall this week: we are going to meet them at the end.

Pictured above are some of things I’ve been loving recently and somethings I’ll be taking with me to Newcastle -obviously not my mason jar cup. I picked up the latest issue of GLAMOUR yesterday as the cover girl is Blake Lively and as I have recently finished Gossip Girl I’ll read to listen to anything that has got a link with it. I have been loving blush this season and this Bare Mineral angled blush brush has made the application a dream. Over the summer I promised myself I’d get back into writing imaginatively and sketching and so I’ll be packing this sharpie which I can write all my ideas down with.

I’m going to incorporate lots of fashion soon, so keep checking back,
