250g Unsalted Butter                                 plus extra for greasing

275g Good Quality Dark Chocolate        70% cocoa solids

70g Mini Fudge Pieces

Walnuts to decorate

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees/ 35o degrees F/ gas mark 4.

Grease and line the base of a square cake tin (approximately 23cm).

Melt the butter and chocolate in a saucepan over a low heat, stirring occasionally. After both the chocolate and butter have completely melted remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl beat together the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is pale and fluffy.

Next, whisk the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until combined. Then stir in the flour and salt.

Then you can add what you want to go in your brownies. I chose to use mini fudge pieces and white chocolate chips.

Afterwards, pour the mixture into the prepared tin – it was here that I sprinkled walnut pieces onto the top.

Cook the brownies for 20-25 minutes, until they are just set – the centre should still be slightly gooey.

Once the brownies are ready to remove from the oven, leave the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the tin and then transfer it onto a cooling rack.

Leave the brownies to completely cool before cutting the cake into squares.

Sunday Recipe | Banana Nut Bread.

Today I’m giving you a flawless recipe so that you can encompass your inner kitchen goddess and get baking. I recently made this cake for my Mum’s birthday a few weeks ago and I’ve been dying to make it again.

The following recipe does contain Walnuts so obviously don’t attempt this recipe if you are allergic to nuts.

Ingredients

225g Plain Flour                    Plus extra for dusting

1tsp Salt

1tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda

115g UnsaltedButter             Plus  extra for greasing

200g Caster Sugar

2 Eggs

3 Bananas                              Mashed

115g Walnuts                         Chopped

2 tbsp Milk

Preheat Your Oven to 160 degrees C/ 325 degrees F/ Gas Mark 3.

Lightly Grease and flour a 900-g/2-lb loaf tin.

Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda into  a bowl and set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugar in a seperate bowl until pale and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, beating well after each addition. Stir in the bananas, walnuts and milk until thoroughly mixed. Then add the flour mixture and stir until everything is combined.

Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour 10 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Leave to cool in the tin for 20 minutes before turning out.

And this is the final result. This delicious and easy to make desert has certainly become a family favourite and I dare say it’ll all be gone by the end of tonight,

Hope you have a fabulous weekend,
